Is VG Shark Fin Antenna functional and how does it compare to stock?
Yes! The built in fractal antenna attaches directly to your antenna base and gives you normal reception for AM and FM radio. The reception is consistently better than any stubby antenna that we tested, and virtually unchanged within the city compared to the stock antenna. However, you might notice a drop in reception when further away from the source.

Do I need to remove or shave off the rear antenna base for this to fit my car?
No! The shark fin shell fits over top of the antenna base of your car and is mounted with our custom 3M double sided automotive adhesive gasket. There is no need to modify or remove anything from your car for installation, and you can easily remove the VG Shark Fin Antenna at a future time without damage to your paint or car.

Can I install this myself?
The installation is really easy and takes no more than 15-20 minutes. No special tools are required as all of them can usually be found around the house. Take a look at the installation procedures page and click on the pictures as well. If there are steps on the installation page that you do not understand, please feel free to email us and ask!

What color does the shark fin come in?
We custom paint each VG Shark Fin Antenna to the OEM color code of your car, which is specified at the time of ordering. You can usually find out the OEM color of your car by looking at the color identification plate which is usually found on the driver side door or door jam. Our painting will match the OEM colors from factory, but we cannot guarantee that your cars paint has not faded or changed shades under weather conditions.

I dont have a rear roof antenna, can I install this?
If you do not have a rear roof antenna, then you dont have to worry about reception. You can install the VG Shark Fin to get the same style, and not have to worry about connecting the antenna since you already have a functional one. All of the installation instructions apply, except for connecting the antenna to the antenna base. But please email us first before placing an order, as we have to check to see if we can adapt one to your car as the curvature of the roof of each car is different.

Does the VG Shark Fin Antenna hold up to a car wash?
Yes, the VG Shark Fin Antenna is secured firmly to the roof of your car with 3M automotive adhesive and will withstand numerous car washes, both soft cloth as well as touch-less car washes.

Can I use the VG Shark Fin Antenna to cover my Sirius/XM antenna?
Yes, many of our customers have covered their Sirius and XM satellite radio antenna with our VG Shark Fin Antenna for a much more uniform and streamlined look. Your Sirius or XM antenna will have to be small enough to fit under the VG Shark Fin Antenna cover (i.e. Terk SIR-MINI SIRIUS antenna). It will required a slight modification to the shark fin (such as cutting a small groove) to allow the satellite antenna wire to pass through the back. Some customers pass the satellite antenna wire through the original antenna base gasket.

When will I receive my shark fin?
Orders and confirmation are processed within 24 hours. After confirmation of your order, we will have your shark fin painted, assembled and ready for shipping in approximately 2-3 weeks. Shipping usually takes another 3-6 business days for locations in North America and approximately between 1 to 2 weeks for international orders.

We accept Paypal account payments and all major credit cards through the Paypal payment system. We also accept Money Orders and Certified Checks mailed to us, but the funds will need to be verified before the order is shipped out.
